Agnes State College—Atlanta, Ga.
This project is one of the jewels on the campus of Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Ga. Completed in 2005, the campus library project was the sister building to the new campus center. Southern Sash was involved in the design process with the architect, tvsdesign in Atlanta, throughout construction, providing installation services in budget and on time. Naval Air Station Pensacola—Pensacola, Fla.
Historic Building 16 on the grounds of the Naval Air Station Pensacola is the oldest occupied structure on the base. Originally constructed in 1859, the building saw service as a chapel during the Civil War. It had fallen into disrepair when the Pensacola Historical Commission decided to initiate a complete renovation and historic restoration, but maintenance of the existing wooden windows was too costly. They elected instead to purchase historically accurate custom-built aluminum windows and doors, which since that time have endured two hurricanes in 2004 and 2005 with no significant damage.
Candler Library, Emory University—Atlanta, Ga.
The Candler Library Building on the campus of Emory University is one of the original campus structures and most well known landmarks. Named for the Candler family, this historic old building underwent
Shelby Hall, University of Alabama—Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Shelby Hall on the main campus of the University of Alabama was designed by HOK Atlanta and represents the largest project of its type on the campus up to that time. The Classical design of the building required that the windows also match the old traditional look of other historic structures on campus. Custom extrusions were designed to achieve the look that the architect and owner desired.
